Discover the East Coast's most stunning natural setting
Known as the Crown Jewel of the North Atlantic Coast, Arcadia National Park is located on Maine's Mount Desert Island and about an hour and a half drive from the Inn. Explore the island by car or boat, with special attention to the small islands and Somes Sound, a beautiful glacially formed fjord that splits the island in two. Mount Desert's landscape is also characterized by forests, rocky beaches and glacier-scoured granite peaks such as Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the United States' East Coast.
As stewards of our beautiful properly, it's important to us that we play our part in operating the Inn sustainably and making environmentally-friendly choices. Accordingly, we have instituted several eco-friendly programs:
• Unused soaps are collected and donated to "Clean The World" where they are sanitized and repurposed for use in community shelters and disadvantaged countries
• All food waste from our kitchen is collected and recycled for composting and biogas
• We do not use any pesticides
• Strong recycling program including all glass, aluminum, and plastic (where available)
• Reduce plastic and paper waste with resuable amenity bottles and eco-ware/green-ware disposable (compostable) products
Since 2004, the Inn has been managed by Migis Hotel Group, welcoming many new and returning guests every summer. It's our goal to seamlessly blend the comforts of modernity with the elegance and charm of our Maine luxury hotel, in a beautiful, yet natural landscape by the sea.
